Project 2: Awareness & Education Events
About
At Fe y Esperanza, we believe that spreading awareness is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against human trafficking. As a survivor, I share my testimony to shine a light on the realities of trafficking and to educate our community on how to recognize, prevent, and respond to it.
Through community events, speaking engagements, and awareness walks, we bring people together to learn, connect, and take action.
Some of our recent events include:
-
🕊️ One Safe Place, San Marcos – Sharing my story and discussing resources available for survivors.
-
🎓 Point Loma University – Educating students and community members about prevention and the importance of mental health support for survivors.
-
🌸 Soroptimist International – Speaking to women leaders dedicated to empowering survivors and advocating for change.
-
🚶 Human Trafficking Awareness Walks – Standing with the community to raise visibility and honor the lives impacted by trafficking.
-
⚖️ Events attended by community leaders including District Attorney Summer Stephan, the Sheriff’s Department, and other key advocates committed to fighting trafficking.
Each event is an opportunity to break stigma, raise awareness, and empower communities to stand against exploitation.
