On Saturday, January 24, Fe y Esperanza – Faith & Hope was honored to participate in the 2nd Annual Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Walk & March held at Escondido City Hall in recognition of National Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

 

This community event united survivors, advocates, nonprofit organizations, faith leaders, and local residents to raise awareness about human trafficking, support survivors, and promote prevention through education and community action. Survivor speakers and participating organizations shared valuable information about the realities of human trafficking, warning signs to watch for, available resources, and ways the public can help prevent exploitation.

 

As a participating organization, Fe y Esperanza connected with community members by sharing educational resources about human trafficking prevention, our survivor-led mission, and the importance of protecting children, supporting survivors, and empowering families through education and awareness. The event also provided an opportunity to build meaningful partnerships with other organizations committed to ending human trafficking.

 

Resource tables offered educational materials, support services, and opportunities for attendees to become involved in local prevention efforts. Participants then marched together in solidarity, demonstrating a united commitment to raising awareness, advocating for survivors, and creating safer communities.

 

This impactful event was organized by Mosques Against Trafficking (MAT), Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women/People (MMIWP), and the San Diego Regional Human Trafficking–Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (HT-CSEC) Advisory Council – Community Sector.
